Speaking of Videos
I thought I would post a couple of videos from our visit to the Dahles. It never fails when we get together, Amber and/or Craig end up singing or dancing (as well as their kids). It is usually a real treat. This time was no exception. Unfortunately, one of the videos was taken sideways. I have no idea how to edit it so that it is upright so you'll have to turn your laptop/head sideways.
(Remember to pause the song player on the list)
Some comment was made about not being able to REALLY dance to Craig's type of music so this last video is of Amber and Craig moshing (i think that's the right term). The reason it's SO funny is because Elsie (their dog) got in on the action!
The cackling in the background is me.
Where Did She Get Those Genes?
For about a week or so Andyn has taken to dancing when ever she hears music. It's almost as if she can't help herself! We caught her on video yesterday.
She didn't get those genes from me or Geoff!!
(You'll probably have to pause the music on my playlist to hear the video)

Meet Me in St. Louis
On the way to Michigan we stopped by to spend some time with some really good friends of ours that we knew when we lived in MI - Craig and Amber Dahle. The last couple of years we've gotten together with them and the Capeners in Tulsa for Memorial Day (such fun!!) Click here for a peek at some of the fun that we've had. Anyway, their daughter Sydney was celebrating her 8th birthday and was also being baptized so we worked it out so that we could be there! It was great! Below are a couple of pictures of Syd and in one she is wearing a bracelet that I made for her (my first ever attempt at making jewelry).
The last picture is of Amber cruising around on Syd's new bike. I took several pics of Amber while we were there but this was the only one that I thought really captured her as she really is: totally fun!! Love ya, Amber!!

Adendum to 'Asher and Andyn'
Dottie, this is for you! I can definitely see a resemblance between these two!!
Happy now? :)
Update on Andyn's Crawling Abilities
So, Andyn is becoming a real pro at this crawling thing. Though I'm not sure that her form is mainstream!
The tongue action is an added bonus! (She has teeth coming in so she is constantly running her tongue over them!)
The 4th!
We had a really great time on the 4th of July. Actually, the real fun was leading up to it. The kids (actually mostly Aspen) helped me do various craft projects to celebrate the 4th. I've included a slide show to let you in on all the fun stuff we did! Then in the evening we went to our dear friends' house (Jack and Dottie Liwai)and popped off a gazillion fireworks! It was a lot of fun! Set back and enjoy the show!
Girls' Night Out
Okay, so it was a little over a week ago but I still have to post about it! We had so much fun! Had some dinner, shopped some, took some crazy pictures and watched Evan Almighty. Here are some fun photos. For a couple of more 'racey' pictures check out Ashley's blog.

Ashley and I in a mean competition!!
Don't ask!
Some people just talk about their kids the whole time they're away from them. We act like them!!

My Partner in Crime
Since I started using SparkPeople I have done really good with my caloric intake but I have struggled to get motivated on the physical activity side of it - until now. Two days ago my 6 yr old daughter informed me that she was turning over a new leaf and going to get healthy. She was in our dining room making up her own exercise routine and talking about not eating seconds at meal time. Though I don't want her to be too worried about it I do want to encourage her to be healthy. She asked me if I would exercise with her. Agh! Now I had to. So I agreed that Monday morning we would exercise together. I have to admit it was kind of fun. We used Yourself Fitness software on the computer. Then we enjoyed a healthy breakfast together. One scrambled egg, one piece of toast, and one cup of milk (this was her portion size - mine was slightly more). We probably should have had some fruit but we were both full. Then I found this really cool game for kids that helps teach them healthy eating habits. It's at www.mypyramid.gov. Which also has handy tools for figuring out serving sizes for kids, too. She loved it. We're going to do a FHE lesson and activity with it tonight. Who would have thought that a 6 yr old would have been my personal kick in the butt!

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!
Andyn has decided that she LOVES the kitty cats! This is her having her own little conversation with Izzy!
I wish I knew how to digitally enhance photos. I'd remove the tennis shoe from Andyn's right cheek!
Raining Cats And Dogs!
Last night the weather man said that we have had 19 straight days of rain. And I read a news report that stated all 77 counties in Oklahoma are under a state of emergency. It's totally crazy! So, today we went for a drive to take a look at the rising waters at Lake Texoma. The following pictures show some of the results of the crazy monsoon we've been experiencing. The first two pictures are of an area that we have actually visited with some friends of the ward to swim and sail the boat. As you can see the water is all the way up the road. I know it's hard to comprehend unless you've been there before but the entire beach, boat dock, and circle drive are under water!
The garbage is pretty gross too!
The next two pictures are from another area that we have visited a couple of times in the past. It's near a campground. If you look closely you can see the painted lines of the street under the water.
If you take a good look at this next picture you'll notice a street light in the middle of the water that's because under the water there is a parking lot! And just past the light is a fishing dock that we have actually WALK out onto before. The round metal things that you see to the right are bathrooms. :)
Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me a Match
Our Boy Cat Named Princess (kinda like the Artist Formely Known as Prince) just found the love of his life... our next door neighbor's cat, Izzy. This is a picture of them spending quality time together on our front doormat. Lately, with all of the rain, this is where they spend all of their time because it is one of the few dry places for them to hang.
